Amanda Blake (born Beverly Louise Neill) was a popular American actor. Her most famous role was as her character, Miss Kitty Russell on the TV series 'Gunsmoke.' Additionally actress, she's appeared on the television shows "The Red Skelton Show", "Tattletales" and "The Edge of Night". Alongside a myriad of films, she's also been featured in several television projects, including Stars In My Crown, Duchess of Idaho, ?Cattle Town ?TM, ?Miss Robin Crusoe , 'About Mrs. Leslie ?TMs Story ? The le de Paris, the Adventures of Hajjibaba$, High Society Blake, a former phone operator and animal lover, was devoted to animals. Along along with Frank Gilbert, she was the first to successfully breed cheetahs in the wild. American actress, Sheila. Gilbert was a co-founder of Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was a past board member of Humane Society of the United States. Blake has been awarded many honors and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The museum also presented her with the Courage Award from the American Cancer Society.
